Introduction
The band Why Don't We came out with a new single on August 9, 2018, titled "8 Letters." It is the opening tune on the band's debut album, which is titled 8 Letters (2018). They gave live performances on both "The Late Late Show with James Corden" as well as "Live with Kelly and Ryan." In April, the band was honored in Toronto, Canada with the presentation of their very first gold plaque. [2] Why Don't We made the announcement that the song has been given the gold certification for the very first time on June 18th, 2019. The single was eventually certified gold in Australia on the 28th day of that month, June. The drum break in this tune was sampled from "You're Getting a Little Too Smart" by The Detroit Emeralds.
The music video
The music video for "8 Letters" was uploaded to YouTube for the very first time on August 19, 2018, to coincide with the song's release. Eli Sokhn is responsible for the video's direction. The band members appear in the video to be frozen in time as they reflect on their inability to let their hearts open up to them.
The band
The band was officially founded on September 27, 2016, and the announcement was made on their YouTube account on September 29, 2016.
The band released their debut single Taking You on October 7, 2016, a tune off their debut EP Only the Beginning, which was eventually released on November 25 of the same year. On April 11, 2017, they released their second extended play, titled Something Different. They released their third EP, Why Don't We Just, on June 2, 2017.
They completed their Something Different Tour in the United States in the same year it was completed. They released another single, These Girls, on August 29, 2017.
They announced the release of their Christmas EP on November 23, 2017, and it was titled A Why Don't We Christmas.
In 2018, they issued two songs, Hooked on June 7 and Talk on July 6, both of which are included on their debut album titled 8 Letters. Hooked was released on June 7 and Talk was issued on July 6.
In 2019, the band decided to release a single every month for the remainder of the year, beginning with Big Plans on January 17, 2019, followed by Cold In LA on February 14, 2019, and I Don't Belong in This Club in collaboration with Macklemore on March 20, 2019. The song "Don't Change," which was included in the movie "Ugly Dolls," was also made available on April 20.
They issued the song "Unbelievable" on May 15 of this year. After that, they issued Come to Brazil on June 28, 2019, I Still Do on July 26, 2019, What Am I on August 23, 2019, What Am I (Live & Unplugged) on September 27, 2019, the day of their third anniversary as a band, Mad At You on October 25, 2019, With You This Christmas on November 29, 2019, and Chills on December 30, 2019. Chills was issued on December 30, 2019.
On September 17, 2020, they announced the song Fallin' (Adrenaline), which was released on September 29, 2020.
The band performed a show at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on October 6, 2021, which coincided with the release of the single "Love Back," which was released the same day. They worked with Jonas Blue on the tune Don't Wake Me Up in January 2022.
